About

Diana James Remedial Massage Therapist

Having grown up in country Western Australia, I have always loved the outdoors. My love of travel saw me living in London for four years and then Sydney for five years.

During this time my passion for helping people led to a career in Personal Training. It became apparent that simply knowing how to help people “become fit” or “toned” wasn’t enough. So I began doing courses in exercise prescription and holistic training, looking at how all aspects of daily life affect a person, such as sleep, stress, exercise and diet.

On moving back to WA, parenting my now teenage children kept me busy for a few years before my passion for helping people led me to complete a Diploma of Remedial Massage including Advanced Dry Needling. I find this can be very effective for more stubborn issues, though of course there is no need to use this method if you prefer not to!

I have been working as a Remedial Massage Therapist full time since graduating in 2015 , and been having regular massages for over 30 years, which I find helpful for not only physical health but mental health too! I think of massage a lot like servicing your car, a regular tune up helps you get on with living life without being held back by aches and pains.

Though I now work full time from my home clinic, I recently massaged for 6 years at a fantastic physiotherapy clinic A Fine Balance Physiotherapy. Here I learnt a great deal about easing pain and improving on mobility and importantly when to refer on to physiotherapists or other health professionals when a problem may need extra investigation.

When I’m not working, you will find me out enjoying Perth with my children, partner or friends. My favourite activities are bushwalking, dancing, taking our two dogs to the beach, heading to the gym, exploring new restaurants and when I am lucky enough to get away, exploring places as India, Mongolia, Bhutan or Singapore.

Why do I love my job? Because every week I get to be a part of someone’s journey from pain/dysfunction towards a life where they can just get out there and enjoy what they love doing!
